A dozen members hold signs during rush hour

About a dozen of us were at the Loyola EL stop in Chicago on Friday evening, May 20, from 5 until about 6:30 p.m.  The location is a place where car traffic gets bottlenecked as people head to the northern suburbs coming off of Lake Shore Drive, so there's a lot of volume and people have to slow down as they pass.  The energy was good - lots of positive response from people passing by.

We had a couple of people in orange jumpsuits and hoods, and lots of signs.

Shawali Khan

Shawali Khan was an Afghan shopkeeper who was sold for a bounty.  He was ordered released twice, but he lost his habeas bid on September 3rd.  Read his story on Andy Worthington's blog site here.
