Long-awaited Report by North Carolina Commission of Inquiry on Torture Released
A commission of inquiry was held on November 30 to December 1, 2017. The report is complete and is being released on September 27, 2018. Read more here. NCCIT seeks prosecution based on the evidence gathered by the commission.

WANTED: Executive Director for torture truth commission
The North Carolina Commission of Inquiry on Torture is hiring a full-time Executive Director.
Thanks to Open Society Foundations, as well as North Carolina congregations and individuals, the Commission has the funding to gear up. We're planning a public launch after Labor Day.

Letters of Support to Current and Former Guantánamo Detainees

Guantánamo Bay: Beyond the Law's Reach

Raleigh, NC - Nearly 50 concerned citizens attended "Guantánamo Bay: Beyond the Law's Reach?" a Nov. 14 event aimed at once to:
- Raise funds for the costs associated with three NC attorneys' volunteer efforts to represent Sharifullah, and other Guantánamo detainees; and
- To educate the community about the plight and human condition of Sharifullah and other detainees.
